May 2022 Highlights

How is it June already? What a brilliant month it's been. My youngest is now 6 years old!! Here are our highlights of the month. Of course, the first thing to share is that my beautiful boy D, is now 6! He is a marvellous character. He's incredibly loving, kind and soft-hearted - if daddy tells him his chocolate looks tasty, D will immediately offer a big piece to him. He's also incredibly inquisitive. Why do things work the way they work? He always wants to know things, and he wonders. I particularly love how he toys around with language - recent examples coming to mind: "Mama, is it called the world because it whirls around in space?" and, "Why is it called a toy-let? Nobody plays with it..." - he's certainly a verbal processor, he never stops talking, sometimes not even in his sleep! But it's marvellous to be given this kind of insight into his thinking. He's such a gift in our lives. Happy birthday D! We had a party for him, I didn't...

We took the plunge early in the year and bought it, and it's taken several months to do the conversion, but within the next few days we should have it and be ready to go! It's a brilliant van, short wheel base so it's easy to maneuver (we thought many people may not be comfortable driving a long wheel base van) but still able to sleep 4 because the top pops up! It's also got three seats with seatbelts at the back, so even a family of 5 could fit. A fridge and a cooker is in there too - that's the kind of camping I can get on board with! A...

April 2022 Highlights

Every month, I post the random pictures of our previous month in one place - pictures that don't make their own blog posts. This is what we've been up to in April 2022... Outings A lovely woodland walk with friends Finally made it to The Wave, which has lots of flat paths perfect for learning to cycle We finally decided to cut Lily's flight feathers because this plucky chicken kept leaping over the fence, pooping on the patio and destroying our plants! (and Fred does nothing about that).  N(7) decided to make creative use of the cut off feathers... Indoors Fun They've decided to go back to Lego Club and are enjoying it a lot! And pride in the outcome at the end! Full concentration Smoothie face! N being King Artaxerxes at Home Ed Co-Op... ...while D(5) created an Elmer the Elephant out of a milk bottle Home Ed kids perks: having an entire trampoline park to ourselves! He face painted himself: an angry snake! And N facepainted herself: a bluebird! They are growing to be ...
