A hot week! We started the weekend by getting Fred back home, as we've now made an arrangement to have him every weekend and then he goes to our friend for the week. The kids are so delighted to have him home, and it's fun to walk him together with Archie so the dogs can play.
We went to visit the grandparents again. It's wonderful to be able to see them again after so long. Father's Day was brilliant as a family reunion!

The kids' biggest highlight ever this week was going horse riding for the first time. It was amazing. We got a bargain taster session at a riding stables across the river in Wales, only half an hour's drive, and I wondered how the kids would be - if they'd go anywhere near the horses at all! N(5) was very cautious and worried about getting on the horse, but D(4) was all systems go and loved it from the first minute. N came around after a few steps on the horse, and was OK throughout. D impressed me hugely - he was intuitively doing everything right, sitting upright, holding the reins the right way, leading the horse... he's a total natural and seemed perfectly confident on there, in his element! This isn't something we can afford on a regular basis but they loved it and I hope I can make it possible again.
It was HOT! Look at those hot faces!!
Of course we visited the tadpole pond, which now is a tadpole-less pond. Still fun to see what we can find, water beetles and newts mainly.
